Emulsifying Wax is an effective emulsifier that allows you to easily create stable creams and lotions. There a number of emulsifying waxes available on the market. Some companies attempt to promote their emulsifying wax as "100% natural", which is simply not true. All emulsifying waxes use one type or other of a semi-synthetic emulsifier.

One popular wax uses the problematic sodium lauryl sulfate as the primary emulsifier. It works well as an emulsifier ‐ but it is too strong and drying to the skin and is best avoided.

Essential Therapeutics offers the most benign Emulsifying Wax available. It is a mixture of 90% cetyl alcohol (a natural fatty alcohol ‐ like a fatty acid ‐ extracted from palm oil) and 10% PEG - 25 stearate. This is a semi-synthetic emulsifier, again made from palm oil (not animals) that is effective but very mild on the skin. Our emulsifying wax is guaranteed to be free any toxic by-products and is approved both for Kosher and Hallal use.

Please note that for orders with Free Shipping only Standard shipping will be used. If you need express shipping even if you qualify for Free Shipping, please pay additionally.

  • We provide tracked standard shipping through reputable carriers such as Sendle (Couriers Please and Aramex) or Australia Post for all domestic shipments within Australia. All orders are dispatches out of Melbourne, except for when purchasing through our Stockists.
  • Please note that standard shipping times may very depending on location. Our team endeavours to ensure timely order dispatch.

  • We may use different couriers at our discretion to ensure the most suitable and time-saving delivery method.

Express Shipping (Within Australia Only):

For Damaged Orders Caused by Australia Post Within Australia:

  • You are responsible for making a claim directly with Australia Post for damaged items, as per Australia Post Shipping Policy.
  • Contact Australia Post customer support, providing all necessary information, including photos, and file a claim with Australia Post. They will guide you through the process and refund you for both postage costs and the damaged product. Be prepared to present your printed order confirmation as proof of the product's cost.
  • If you encounter issues with Australia Post processing your refund, please get in touch with us, we will need some proof of this occurrence.

For Damaged Orders Caused by Sendle Within Australia:

  • We will either replace or refund your damaged item if you contact us within 5 days of receiving the damaged item, allowing us sufficient time to make a damaged item claim with Sendle. We will handle the communication with the courier to resolve the issue.
  • Please send us a photo of the damaged item, including the packaging of the box, the 'fragile' stickers, and bubble wrap to demonstrate that the item was appropriately packaged.
